U.S. stocks have been on an up and up over the past few years and market watchers are constantly wondering if we are in another bubble, and whether it’s close to bursting. After all, the S&P 500 hit a record high when it closed on Friday, May 15, 2015… so are we in a bubble or are valuations justified because yields are lousy everywhere else and stocks are the only place to get decent returns?
And for investors that have seen their portfolios rise pretty nicely since 2011, is this a good time to sell and lock in profits? Should they stay invested because yields everywhere else are essentially zero and well below inflation? It’s a time that is posing conundrums for the average investors. Moreover, no one wants to get slammed with another 2008-like scenario – so caution is in the air. All stocks, some stocks some cash or all cash… what’s your view? Do the same rules apply to everyone, and if not, why?
